Original viola from the French luthier Nicolas Duclos from 1769, who settled in Spain, a disciple of Stradivari.
This small 15” viola still has all its functionality, although with obvious signs of use, the passage of time and its great longevity.
The viola has had several repairs, as can be seen in the photos, but all its parts are intact and original.
The viola belonged to a family of musicians, and in its last stage it was owned by a member of this family, who worked as a violist in a Spanish orchestra until he retired a few years ago.
This is a very comfortable viola to play, with a warm, creamy sound and the subtlety and beauty of the best old instruments.
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a historical piece, of great value and great lyrical expressiveness, a collector's piece, exclusive and fully functional.
